adolescent, child and FAMILY THERAPY
All members of families can be assisted through counselling as changes affect everyone. Children may need to express their painful emotions and be helped to understand changes that have affected them and learn assertive ways to take a stand against bullying or to ensure their needs are met. Adolescents often need an adult outside their family to share with, particularly with regards to peer relationships and dealing the pressures to conform. Parents can be assisted in learning more about how they can support and encourage their children throughout their developmental journey and provide consistency, stability and security no matter what changes occur within or outside the family. Families can benefit greatly from counselling when struggling together through challenging circumstances as openness during sessions has a liberating effect in freeing each other to speak about what has happened while providing mutual understanding and support.
